I got gears of war for PC somewhere last week.

 

Seriously after playing gears of war i'm thinking of starting to rate games on my blog. just so i could give this game a 10/10 and show how it beats the rest.

Its not that i havent played gears of war before, This games been around for a awhile, but only on the 360. I play it on split screen when i'm out with friends or when maybe when MS is having their promos. but i never got to play the campigne mode.

 

its a 3rd person shooter unlike its cousin unreal tournement, or games like halo, doom3, hl2, btw gears of war uses the same UT3 game engine. rather than a 3PS epic calls it a tactical shooter coz rather than ducking and jumping around you're fighting more strategy based with firing, ducking behind, and manouvering between various covers in a heaty gun fight with your team. something like call of duty

 

the controls were far better than on playing on the console. shooters and consoles just dont go together. the only bad thing was the control for the chainsaw on F, so since yo're using W,A,S,D for your movement you end up getting your keys mixed up when the need arises to use your chainsaw.
the graphics were awsome, very detailed!!!. of course you need a high end GPU for this, The story was great. great mix of special ops with some sci fi. and best monsters i've seen in a game so far. the gameplay was the best. every moment in this game looks like its out of a movie. The only bad thing is i found the game too short. but it probabaly isnt really coz i was so into it i didnt feel the time fly.

 

so now what? well gears of war 2 is coming this xmas.  check out the technology preview from GDC 08. and when we thought things couldnt get any better, it just did!!!

 

but wait. it gets even better :P Gears of war is coming to the big screen in the summer of 09

 

 

Well I wished this day would never come but aparantly it has. I'm selling my car. The Mitsubishi Colt 1981. If you're one of my buddies you've been on a ride with me in it. If you're my closer buddies(who can drive) you're prolly gotten the privilage of actually driving her. but most of you know how much she means to me. People changed, Places changed, friends changed, Alot of things changed. but my car was always there, to take me where ever I want, safely and fast.

 

I was 21 When I bought her, It wasnt for much. well thats all I could afford. Its very different from picking up a car from a heap of new commuter cars, coz there all the cars are the same. This was a 2nd hand car shop with a huge variaty of cars, and after browsing around when I 1st saw her the feeling was electric. If I didnt believe in love at 1st sight, then I did.

 

She had quite a number of problems at 1st. One by one they'd pop up at the most unexpected times, and I went through alot of shit to get them fixed. I learned the nuts and bolts of cars in the proccess. Eventually Things paid off. After around 1 year of hassle I could take her out without taking along a buddy in case she needed to be pushed. Then the fun really began, I'd drive the Blue Devil(haha yea, I'd named her too ) everywhere, it became my signature, people would look at it in awe as it wooshed past their newer cars, friends would die to check whats under the hood, people would hitch rides, sometimes even total strangers, loads of stuff i'd go on and on but then.

 

I have alot of history and alot of memories with the Blue Devil, you remember things about people that mean to you in your life and you remember you car just as if it were a person too. Yesterday I gave her to my mechanic for a final check up. I've made arrangements with him to keep her in good shape whoever the owner maybe.

 

Ever since I 1st heard Yanni perform I've been a huge fan of his music. Not like the hip hop, pop, rock; this music is actually relaxing and inspirational. Its been awhile since yanni composed any new songs but not like regular music these days his songs dont die out over time.

 

Well if you're a fan of his music then 2008 is going be something. Yanni has teamed up with Oscar/Grammy winning producer Ric Wake to recreate his existing masterpieces with vocals. Yes, vocals! there's going to be extreamely talented artists singing to his music. I never imagined what it would sound like if yanni's music had voices put into them. From the teasers it sounds good. a mix of english and italian. Some new instrumentals comiing up too. So we'll have to wait till its out. but it'll be definitely worth it.

Minister Mervyn Silva, the guy who got whacked at the state television corporation, claims that he's a decendent of king Dutugamunu. So Mervyn wants some of this kings name rub off on him too. aparently mervyn didnt do his history homework. King Dutugamunu had a brother called ELARA!! (now if you know your history lots of alarm bells are ringing) Elara was a bad ass guy. He killed his own dad, and a whole lot of other people. and went and hid it the sigiriya rock. So regardless if Mervyn likes it or not, He's an ancestor of Elara just as much as Dutugamunu. Now thats a spoiler eh :P
