August 16 uni lifeuni life is wonderful, its feels great to be a student once again! most students would say it sucks, coz you got homework, assigments projects and presentations, until they go out into the working world. i'm not saying work life isnt fun. it is definitely fun, especially when there are no boundries. but after a while you begin to really miss that college/uni life.
A question everyone asks me, both malaysians and sri lankans "so what do you think of malaysia so far?" or "so whats malaysia like?" its been great and i like this place. 1st when i came here i was abit overwhelmed, after all this is only the 2nd time i've been to to another country. malaysia is great. its people, its many cultures. the spicy food (still not as spicy as sri lanka). i was expecting to feel homesick, but i didnt. not that i dont miss my family and friends back in sl. but this place really feels like home. maybe because everyone around here looks malay. July 09 Discovering La la landSo i've been here just over a week. Well what can i say? its been one hell of an experience. and they say its just the begining. lol. or should I say la. I'm sucked into this place, its people, their culture like a whirlpool. I'm supposelty look like a local so people imidiately start talkin to me in malay. but Its a good thing I guess.
Well thats about it for now. I still havent got my company laptop. when I get that, more moiamors on la la land lol November 23 Bangkok to meAfter a lil bit of procastination the long awaited review of Bangkok is finaly here. Yea I kno you'll just digging to kno wt i did there. heheh. I kno wt ur thinking, no i'm not telepathic. just that i kno how u think.
Cars - Corolla is most common. Most cabs are corolla. Lancers are VERY hard to find. Other than my uncle no one takes comments such as 'nice car dude' in a gud way. Not many Modified cars, not visually at least. You can see alot of M3s and a few other Exotics. Guys meet at the park for Drags. Awsome roads, avg speed u go at around 100-120kmph.
Food - A HUGE Variaty of Dishes, Fruits I've never heard of. and I thought Rambutan will surprize em...hehehe. Pork or pork oils are hard to avoid at the street side eating places. If u stick to sea food at the resteraunts nothing to worry. Even sea food there's so many dishes. Dont miss the shrimp soup. Its like a 9volt batt current going thru u in some awsome flavour i cant describe.
Women - women outnumber men at least 3:1 here. Not as short as i expected. Quite pretty, Now i can offically say i have a new fetish of Asian grls. They generally mind their own business, until u open ur mouth. My previous argument that women dont deserve equel rights i'd take back, well at least for thai women. Thai women arent afraid to work hard, you can find them doing all the same jobs men do, even mechanics, computer hardware, labour jobs.
PS: Btw Ayesha I still strongly stick to the 'uncomplicated thai woman' concept
Men- The men are kinda weird in my opinion. Lots of metros. A bit too stylish folk. Their hair is almost are cared for as women do. Hardly ne body or facial hair, at least that i could see. Gays, and Shemales aka 'Lady boys' you will bump into often. This is mostly amoungst the youth males. Guys i dunno why the hell u wanna give up ur maleness. Other than that all thais are really friendly, caring and helpful ppl.
Places- Many many places to go. Mostly spent time shopping and exploring the citry. We missed out the tours coz of lact of time. I think u'd need at least a month to explore whole of bangkok. There's a place like unity, Place like MC, Place like Darly Rd, Place like ODEL, Excel world, Mollies, etc... only everywhere's 10 times bigger. Can get around by Cab, Trishaw or bike. bt I wouldnt take a bike unless i'm riding it.
Conclusion- This is an awsome place for holiday, roadtrip and maybe even living..Nice ppl, fud, places....This was my 1st time in another country so maybe i should try someplace else, but still for wt its worth I luv this place. |
